Dr. Denk on VASER Liposuction
VASER LIPOSUCTION REMOVES MORE FAT WITH LESS EFFORT
When it comes to body sculpting treatments, there are a multiple options to reduce fat and contour target areas. While tumescent liposuction continues to be the most common method to get rid of unwanted fat, VASER liposuction is gentler on the surrounding tissues. Dr. Denk, who prefers VASER liposuction to standard lipo says, “it provides better results with less swelling, less bruising, less pain, and less downtime.”
VASER Liposuction, also known as 4D liposuction/hi-def liposuction, is an acronym for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance. Essentially. VASER liposuction uses ultrasound instead of a mechanical motion to help get the fat cells out of the body. VASER liposuction is FDA-approved and has entered its third generation of technological advances. VASER liposuction has been around over 20 years, but now uses a lower level of ultrasonic energy that eliminates the majority of specifically targeted fat cells without any of the previous risks.
LIPOSUCTION ISN’T JUST FOR TUMMIES ANYMORE
VASER liposuction is used virtually everywhere on the body to contour, slim and accentuate favorable anatomy. Discussing your goals plus your concerns with Dr. Denk will help him choose what is best for you. You have probably heard this before, but, Dr. Denk is known to actually listen to his patients.
HOW DOES VASER LIPOSUCTION REALLY WORK?
The VASER cannulas help break down dense fat, but the surgeon can also contour while more fat is taken out. This technology allows for safe emulsification of fat in deep and superficial locations while preserving blood vessels, nerves and muscles. Dr. Denk’s experience: “I have found that overall, the results are more profound with VASER liposuction and you can also see additional skin and tissue tightening.” VASER liposuction can also help doctors produce a more defined shape and give the body a more sculpted look. “Most of my female patients do NOT want to have a six-pack carved into their abdomens! However, liposuction is not just simply removing fat. Ideally, it’s about producing an aesthetically pleasing shape and form that reveal underlying anatomical structures”, says Dr. Denk.
CAN THE FAT FROM VASER LIPOSUCTION BE TRANSFERED OR GRAFTED?
Another upside to VASER liposuction is that the extracted fat remains viable for transfer to anywhere you want more fullness, including the buttock, face, breasts, or hands. Know that fat liquefied via laser liposuction (like Smart Lipo) isn’t usable. Recent studies have shown that fat transferred after VASER liposuction is at least as successful if not more than traditional means. “The permanency of transferred or grafted fat in my patients over the past 15 years has been between 30-60%”, notes Dr. Denk. “My expectation is that fat harvested with VASER technology will consistently have a 50-70% survival rate”.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF VASER LIPOSUCTION?
There are many benefits to choosing VASER liposuction over traditional liposuction. VASER lipo is minimally invasive, and less traumatic. Therefore, it usually results in less bleeding, minimal bruising, and much less pain. These characteristics make the recovery period for VASER liposuction shorter than for traditional liposuction.
This is an outpatient procedure, where patients go home soon afterwards. Patients will have to be on light activity for up to two weeks.
Dr. Denk explains: “The driving force for change continues to be our patients. Patients are looking for improved body shape and form that is sexy, muscular, or athletic. VASER liposuction gives me the tools to help my patients reach their goals.”
